Dorothy K. (Dankel) Radcliffe, 93, of Mertztown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and reunited with the love of her life, Stanley W. Radcliffe, who died August 19, 2007.

Born in the Village of Mertztown, Longswamp Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Laura S. (Fegely) Dankel. She was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown, where she also was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Womens Alter Guild. Dot graduated in 1936 from the former Longswamp School. She also was a 1952 graduate of Joyce Art Beauty Culture College, Allentown. In Dorothys circle of family and friends she was affectionately known as Dorothy, Dottie, Dot, Mammy Dot, Nanna, Mom and Mumsie. That circle also knew that Dot demonstrated all of the fruits of the Spirit: she was full of love, joy and peace; she was patient, kind and full of goodness. She was faithful and had a gentle spirit. She was loved and will truly be missed. Dottie was a member for 58 years of East Penn Chapter #336 Order of the Eastern Star, Kutztown; a 69 year member of Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Topton; delivered Meals-on-Wheels for many, many years and volunteered at the Allentown Soup Kitchen sponsored by the Lehigh County Conference of Churches. Dorothy operated a beauty salon out of her home over 25 years.

She is survived by Daughter, Robin C. (Radcliffe) wife of William R. Yellets, Mertztown; Sons Stanley M. widower of Ruth M. (Moyer) Radcliffe, Mertztown, Ronald C. “Manny” widower of Margo A. (Wendell) Radcliffe, Mertztown. Other survivors include a Sister, Ruth (Dankel) widow of George Follweiler, Emmaus. There are 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by a Granddaughter, Kirstin; Sisters, Lucy (Dankel) Dengler and Arline (Dankel) Weaknecht and a Brother, Charles "Henry" Dankel.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Saint Pauls Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown. Inurnment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown, will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or calling hours. The family will greet extended family and friends immediately following the memorial service in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 117, Mertztown, PA 19539-0117. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
