Dorothy E Lantz

Dorothy E. (Wert) Lantz, 91, formerly of Newtown Square and Topton, died Monday, June 16, 2008 in Riddle Village, Media, where she resided for many years. She was the widow of Dr. Harold J. E. Lantz who died February 26, 2004.

Born in Slatedale, Lehigh County, PA, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Minnie C. (Millhouse) Wert. She was an elementary school teacher for 34 years in the Topton and Philadelphia school systems. She also worked as a dental hygienist from 1954 to 1957 and was an instructor at Temple University School of Dental Hygiene. Mrs. Lantz was a 1934 graduate of Allentown High School, 1938 graduate of Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She received a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from Duke University, Durham, NC, in 1940. She was a 1954 graduate of the Temple University School of Dental Hygiene as a Registered Dental Hygienist. In 1956 she received a Master’s degree from Temple University. Mrs. Lantz was president of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Association from 1967 to 1969. She was also a member of the Temple University Alumni Association. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, East Penn Chapter #336, Kutztown.

She is survived by Daughter, Lynda Lantz-Goulet wife of Dr. Peter G. Goulet, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Granddaughter, Meridith Goulet, Kansas City, Missouri.

Private graveside services in Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown, are at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
