Doris M Shirey

Doris M. Shirey, 73, of Orwigsburg, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the widow of Harry C. Shirey, who died in 2002. Her first husband, Richard C. Kline, died in 1960.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, she was a daughter of the late Alvin A. and Leah (Ney) Adams. Mrs. Shirey was a member of First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven. She was a 1957 graduate of Blue Mountain High School, and also attended Kutztown University. Doris was employed as a Teacher Aide for the kindergarten class at Blue Mountain School District. Mrs. Shirey was the owner and operator of the former Haven Cab Co., Schuylkill Haven. She was employed and retired from Miller Textile Company, Schuylkill Haven. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Orwigsburg Chapter 424. Mrs. Shirey was known for being the lyricist of the Alma Mater for Blue Mountain High School.

She is survived by Daughter, Kim L. (Kline) Adamson, Alburtis; Son, Donald A. husband of Barbara H. (Hasson) Kline, West Wyomissing; 4 Grandchildren, Meghan M. McShaw, Richard J. Kline, Jeremy B. Adamson, and T. Kevin Kline, there are also Great Grandchildren, Braiden Murphy and Owen Ludwig.

The family will host a memorial service on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM from First United Church of Christ, 110 Route 61 South, Schuylkill Haven. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
