Doris M Herman

Doris M. (Keiser) Herman, 82, of West Franklin Street , Topton, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she was a resident since July 23, 2014. She was the widow of Walter A. Herman, who died December 15, 1986 .

Born in Topton, she was a daughter of the late John H., Sr., and Marie L. (Webb) Keiser. Mrs. Herman was a member of Saint Peter's United Church of Christ, Topton, where she formerly taught Sunday school, directed the children's choir, and was a member of the senior choir. She was a 1950 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Mrs. Herman was employed for 37 years by the Brandywine Heights School District, Topton, last working as the secretary to the middle school principal, retiring in 2000. Doris was actively involved in her community and church. She was a longtime member of The Brandywine Minstrels, last performing in their 2013 show .

She is survived by Daughter, Sherry L. (Herman), wife of Danny L. Seaman, Kutztown; Grandsons, Bart D. Seaman, companion of Tana Smith, Mount Laurel, NJ, and Trent D., husband of Danielle M. (Saul) Seaman, Pittsburgh; Sister, Nancy F. (Keiser), widow of Clyde E. Steffy, Topton; brother, John H., Jr., husband of Marcia F. (DeTurk) Keiser, Kutztown; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two Sisters, Jean Ann Keiser and Miriam I. (Leeser-Keiser) Rauenzahn Werst; and two Brothers, Dallas F. Keiser and Larry C. Keiser .

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Saint Peter's United Church of Christ, 122 West Franklin Street, Topton, with Reverend Roger M. Ulrich officiating. Interment will follow in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. The family will receive relatives and friends following the interment in the church fellowship hall .
