Doretha J. Boyer, 87, of Macungie, died Thursday, December 24, 2009 in the in-patient hospice unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of the late Herman C. Boyer who died December 30, 1981.
Born in Exeter Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Franklin and Grace (Davis) Drey. She was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Saint Peter’s Union Church, Macungie. She worked as an assembler for Lansdale Tube which became Philco Ford Tube until her retirement in 1975, after having worked 20 years. She was a member of the Seisholtzville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by Daughters, Geraldine A. (Boyer) Stoudt, Kutztown, Patricia F. (Boyer) husband of Clarence L. Hilbert, Macungie, Sons, Herman M. husband of Vici J. (Feeser) Boyer, Port Charlotte, Fla, and Timothy C. husband of Loni R. (Kunkle) Boyer. There are also 2 Sisters, Mary (Drey) Bauer, Macungie and Minnie (Drey) Kline, Barto., In addition, she is survived by 12 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Daughter, Jacqueline R. (Boyer) widow of Carl F. Deisher, of Topton. She was also predeceased by 4 grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 11:00 AM at the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Saint Peter’s Church Cemetery, Macungie. Friends may call Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
