Mrs. Doreene A. Hughes

Doreene A. (Adams) Hughes, 62 of Topton, passed away peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, on Friday, April 14, 2023. She was the wife of Lawrence Hughes, Jr., whom she married on August 2, 1980. Born in Allentown on January 20, 1961, Doreene was the daughter of Eileen A. (Kranch) Adams Beidler of New Ringgold, and the late William E. Adams, Jr.

She was a 1978 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and worked as the Office Administrator at Topton Chiropractic Center for 25 years. Doreene was an avid gardener and wildlife lover. She spent countless hours in her flower gardens, planting and feeding the birds. When she wasn't in her gardens, she also enjoyed reading and being outdoors. Her other passion was her grandchildren and was very close with her oldest granddaughter, Jocelyn, with whom she had a very special bond. Doreene also enjoyed reading, antiquing, decorating and spending time at the beach.

In addition to her husband and mother, Doreene is survived by her three daughters, Nicole A. (Hughes) Herbert and husband, Rae of Allentown, Ashley M. Hughes and fiancé, Jeremy Yoder of Fleetwood, Shanna L. Hughes and significant other, Adam Lynch of Topton; grandchildren, Jocelyn Hoch, Autumn Yoder, Sophia Hoch, Jayden Cordero, Lilly Yoder and Anessa Hughes; brother, William E. Adams, III and wife, Lisa of Allentown; and sister, Katrina M. (Adams) Pisko and husband, Joseph of Allentown.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Doreene's life will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
