Donald T Rohrbach

Donald T. Rohrbach, 83, of Alburtis, died peacefully with his family by his side, Tuesday, January 3, 2017, in the Emergency Department of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Donald was the husband of Marian E. (Dries) Rohrbach. They were married March 20, 1954.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Herbert and Elsie (Fogel) Rohrbach. Donald honorably and faithfully served our country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie. Donald was employed as a parts manager at Kelly Buick and Kelly Ford, Emmaus. He also worked as a retail clerk for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board at various stores in the Lehigh Valley, working until his retirement in 2007.  Mr. Rohrbach was a member of Lehigh Lodge #326 F. & A.M., Lehigh Consistory, Rajah Shrine, Reading, Mercantile Club, Emmaus and Alburtis Rod & Gun Club, Alburtis.

In addition to his Wife of 62 years, Marian, Donald, is survived by a Nephew, who Donald and Marian raised, William J. “Bill” Meck, companion of Louise J. (Reinert) Eppel, Alburtis. Other survivors include a Grand Niece, Miranda M. (Meck) wife of Benjamin F. Swatsky, Coopersburg and a Grand Nephew, John W. husband of Jocelyn K. (Nagle) Meck, Laureldale; Great Grand Nieces, Cora M. and Hazel A. Swatsky. There are also additional nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. His long-time caregiver, Lisa (Ortiz) Marrero, Freemansburg, Northampton County, also survives. In addition to his Parents, Donald was predeceased by Sisters: Irene, Ruth, Margaret, Jean, Virginia and Janet; Brothers, Robert, Herbert, Jr., and Richard.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 11:00 AM from Grace Lutheran Church, 28 West Main Street, Macungie, with Reverend Samantha L. Drennan, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Zionsville Lutheran Church Cemetery, Old Zionsville.  Family and Friends may call Saturday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.

Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
