Donald R Thomas

Donald R. Thomas, Sr., 86, of Macungie, died Thursday, November 7, 2013, in his residence. He was the widower of Jean Marie (Getts) Thomas.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Daniel R. and Jessica (Muskell) Thomas. He was Presbyterian in faith. Mr. Thomas was a 1945 graduate of Edwardsville High School and attended Lehigh Carbon Community College. He was an information technology professional working as operations manager in physicians’ services for Pentamation Enterprises, Inc., Bethlehem, for 15 years. Prior to that, he worked in the same capacity for American Diversified Enterprises, a division of LANTA, Allentown.

He is survived by Daughter, Linda J. (Thomas), wife of Kevin J. Stumpp, Macungie; Sons, Daniel D., husband of Diane M. (Holubowsky) Thomas, Lenhartsville, Donald R., Jr., husband of Terri (Dennis) Thomas, Beaufort, NC; 7 Grandchildren, Sara J. (Thomas), wife of Christopher R. Cathcart, Jeffrey C. Souders, Jr., Tina M. Thomas, Brandon M Stumpp, Kevin F. Stumpp, Andrew D. Barthol, Jeremy J. Barthol; and 12 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Sister, Olive Jean (Thomas) Pearn; and a Brother, Daniel D. Thomas.

Funeral Services are Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will follow in Fern-Knoll Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
