Donald P Buss

Donald P. Buss, 74, died Saturday, August 28, 2010, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Living for 51 years at his residence in Alburtis and then as a resident of Belleair Bluffs, Fla.

Born in Fullertown, Lehigh County to the, he was the son of the late Stanley R., Sr. and Deldee (Smoyer) Buss. He graduated in 1954 from Whitehall High School. He was employed as a manager for Bell Atlantic, now Verizon, Allentown, for 31 years until his retirement in 1987. Don enjoyed his 23 years of retirement to the fullest, spending time with his children, grandchildren and his many friends, never letting a day go by without being grateful for having another day to live. He truly loved life. He was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown.

Don is survived and cherished by his best friend and wife of 54 years, Constantine L. (Makovsky) Buss and his children, Vicki L. (Buss) wife of Glenn Weyer, Hamburg; Colleen M. (Buss) wife of Elias I. Ammary, New Tripoli; and Glenn P. husband of Kelly J. (Burnett) Buss, Fleetwood. There are 7 Grandchildren, Jenna M. (Weyer) wife of Mark Beuhner, Erik G. Weyer, Amir G. Ammary, Chelsea L. Ammary, Jackie M. Buss, Brandy L. Simmons and Jimmy Simmons; and Great Grandchildren, Alexis and Brianna Simmons. Other survivors include a Brother, Richard C. Buss, Whitehall. He was predeceased by Brothers, Boyd E. Buss and Stanley R. Buss Jr.

At Don’s request, services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Box 117, Mertztown, PA 19539 or Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006-3517. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
