Donald E Day

Donald E. Day, 68, of Mertztown, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 in his residence. He was the husband of Marie A. (Hess) Day, and were married November 9, 1968.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Charles O. and Annie (Miller) Day. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the owner and operator of his own recycling business in Rockland Township for many years; prior to that he was employed as a welder at East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons, for over 25 years.

He is survived by Wife, Sons, Chris husband of Anna (Selig) Day, Mertztown, and Sam Day, Alburtis; Daughter, Pam Day, companion of Scott Szilli, Macungie; Sisters, Virgie (Day) wife of Bobby Moser, Stony Creek, and Dolly (Day) Copenhaver, Stony Creek; Brother, Benjamin husband of Sarah (Hess) Day, Alburtis. There are also 7 Grandchildren, Austin, Ryan, and Dylan Szilli, Nicole, Samantha, and Rebecca Day, and Shawna Lopresti.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
