Mrs. Dona L. Frantz

Dona Lee Frantz, 83, of Topton, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at The Lutheran Home at Topton, Topton, PA. She was the wife of Roger C. Frantz. They would have celebrated their 45 ^th anniversary in March, 2022.

Born October 12, 1938 in Abington, PA Dona was the daughter of the late Marjorie G. (Thomas) and Mahlon W. Francis, Jr. Dona graduated from Ambler High School in Ambler, PA. She also attended Montgomery Nursing School in Norristown, PA.

Dona’s favorite place was her and Roger’s home on Fairview Lake in NJ where she enjoyed entertaining guests. She and Roger were known as the inseparable couple that dressed alike wherever they went.  Dona was a wonderful mother to her children and extended that welcome to anyone who came home with them. She always had a quick wit and a fast comeback when having conversation with others and was able to make everyone laugh.

While living in her and Roger’s cottage at The Lutheran Home at Topton, Dona enjoyed shopping, basket weaving, taking bus trips, playing WII bowling, painting, Pub Night, and playing Kubb with Roger and her friends. She was also in several plays with Roger that were put on by The Lutheran Home. These plays (and all the lines they had to memorize!) were highlights for Dona each year. Her love of bears can be seen all over her home. Her favorite thing, however, was having guests visit her and Roger at their cottage.

In addition to her husband, Roger, she is survived by her children, Scott B. Haines of Schwenksville, James T. Haines (Pamela) of Sellersville, and John A. Haines (Gwen) of Jim Thorpe.; grandchildren, Tara Hallman (Jake), Carly Henry (Darin), Ryan Haines (Jennifer), Daniel Haines (Sarah), Matthew Haines, Austen Haines (Lindsey) and Tyler Haines (Elizabeth); great-grandchildren, Zeke, Brett, Tice, Wyatt, Makenzie, Oliva, Colten, Braxten, Kinsley and Grayson. Also surviving her is her brother, Ronald Francis.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon. Burial will be held privately by her family.
