Dolores J. Schmoyer

Dolores J. (Reiss) Schmoyer, 89, of Hereford Township, died Thursday, October 27, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.  She was the widow of Fenton C. Schmoyer, who died September 24, 1993.  Born in Macungie, Dolores was a daughter of the late Jessie R. and Marie B. (Gery) Reiss.  Dolores was a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis.

Dolores worked as a sewing machine operator in several garment manufacturing companies during her working life, but her most important work was taking care of her family and home.

Dolores enjoyed playing cards, traveling to the mountains, and enjoyed entertaining family at her home.

Dolores is survived by five children:  Larry C., widower of Suzanne Schmoyer, Alburtis; Craig F. Schmoyer, Barto; Dawn M. (Schmoyer), widow of Brian K. Derr, Fleetwood; Melissa A. (Schmoyer), wife of Lloyd E. Weller, Jr., Mertztown; Mark R., husband of Wendy C. (Thomas) Schmoyer, Kutztown.  Other survivors include, a son-in-law, Earl C. Miller, widower of predeceased daughter Ann L. (Schmoyer) Miller, Alburtis;  nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, Fenton, and her parents, Dolores was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor (Reiss) Mauer; and a brother in infancy.

A private graveside service to honor and celebrate Dolores' life will be held in Huff's Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis, at the convenience of the family.
