Dolores F Eck

Dolores F. Eck, 79, formerly of Mertztown, died Monday, December 29, 2008 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of John W. Eck who died December 19, 1990.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Florence (Lenbach) Kern. She was of the Evangelical Congregational faith. She worked as both a nurse’s aide and did clerical work at The Lutheran Home at Topton for over 25 years until her retirement in 1994.

She is survived by Daughters, Nancy E. (Eck) wife of Troy M. Wessner, Hamburg, Salli A. Eck, Reading; Son, John L. husband of Lori A. (Turner) Eck, Mertztown. In addition there are 5 Sisters, Joyce (Kern) Hein, Allentown, Joan (Kern) Lehr, Fleetwood, Nancy (Kern) wife of Robert Heydt, Mertztown, Fern (Bauman) wife of Robert Fritz, Mertztown, Cathy (Kern) wife of Thomas McNamara, Thompson, PA; Brother, Willard Kern, Allentown. There are also 17 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Son, David E. Eck in 2003 and a Brother, Charles Bauman.

Funeral Services are Friday, January 2, 2009, at 10:30 AM from Reinert Multipurpose Room on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, One South Home Avenue, Topton. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the multipurpose room.
