Dick H. Ream

Dick H. Ream, 86, of Fleetwood, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in Veteran's Medical Center, Lebanon.  He was the widower of Faye A. Ream, who died November 18, 2012.  Born in Rockland Township, he was a son of the late George J. and Catherine E. (Seidel) Ream.  Mr. Ream was a member of New Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Fleetwood. He honorably and faithfully served his country as a sergeant in the United States Army, with service during the Korean War.  He was employed as a truck driver and yard crew worker at East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyon Station, for 15 years until his retirement in 1996. Prior to that, he worked as a truck driver for the former Burgmeyer Brothers, Reading, over 20 years. Dick was a member of the Horace M. Kieffer Post 625 American Legion, Fleetwood, enjoyed golfing in his retirement, was a fan of baseball and had a love of airplanes.

Daughters, Faith Ann (Ream) Brenner, Denver; Debra F. (Ream), wife of Glen P. Dunkelberger, Exeter Township; Lori S. Ream, Fleetwood; son, Steven P., husband of Donna (Iaccarino) Ream, Fleetwood; sisters, Ruth (Ream) Gauby, Fleetwood; Betty (Ream) Snyder, Oley; June (Ream) McKently, Fleetwood; brother, Jack E. Ream, Fleetwood.  There are also four grandchildren, Cybill I. Reppert, Matthew D. Bensinger, Brandy L. Brenner, and Amy L. Brenner, and four great grandchildren, Alicia, Trent, Damien, and Keegan. In addition to his wife and parents, Dick was predeceased by brothers, John G. Ream, Ronald G. Ream and George J. Ream.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown with Reverend Corrine Dautrich officiating.  Interment with Military Honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion Honor Guard, Topton, and Pennsylvania Military Honors, Fort Indiantown Gap, in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.  Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
