Dennis H. Kunkle, 77, died peacefully, Friday, March 21, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the loving husband of Eileen J. (Remaly) Kunkle. They were married February 26, 1966. Born in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, Dennis was a son of the late Harold L. and Verna E. (Snyder) Kunkle. He was a member of Hope Community Church, Fleetwood.
Dennis was a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, Class of 1966. Dennis was a member of concert band and an industrial arts major.
Dennis was employed as a final technician for Mack Trucks, working at both its Macungie and Allentown plants until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.
He was a member of Grundsow Lodge and Hasch Lodge, which he enjoyed attending with his son, Zach. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and cooking. He also enjoyed reading.
Dennis was a man who was handy in mechanical, construction and all manner of things. He always enjoyed learning new things and was willing to give a helping hand to family and friends. He was an unselfish man who taught his family the meaning of unconditional love. Dennis loved to laugh, was a jokester, and had a quick wit. He was a hard worker and enjoyed a good bargain. He loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Eileen, Dennis is survived by a son, Zachary D., husband of Amelia Kunkle, Kempton; a daughter, Rachelle E. (Kunkle), wife of Mark A. Schmidt, Mertztown. Other survivors include five grandchildren: Zachary, Alysha, Malachi, Emma, and Levi; great grandchildren: Ryker, Fabian, Ethan, and Samuel. In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by his siblings: Violet (Kunkle) Solt; Donald, Leroy, and Larry Kunkle.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Dennis' life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in Hope Community Church, 31 Lobachsville Road, Fleetwood, with The Reverend Kevin Kanagy, officiating. Interment in Saint Paul's U.C.C. Cemetery, Trexlertown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the church.
