Dennis D Burkhart

Dennis D. Burkhart, 57, of Dunkel’s Church Road, Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.), died Saturday, May 6, 2006, in Saint Luke’s Hospital – Allentown Campus, City of Allentown. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Unangst) Burkhart, they were married July 31, 1993.

Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of Miriam M. (Stern) Burkhart, Shoemakersville and the late John L. Burkhart. He was last employed as a greeter and tour guide at Cabela’s, Hamburg (Tilden Twp.) for the last three (3) years, last working April 30, 2006. Prior to that he worked for three (3) years as a filler for Gliden Paint, Reading. He first worked as a spray painter for Rockwell International, now Goss Graphics. He retired from Goss Graphics, Wyomissing, after 31 years in 2000. He was a lifetime member of Virginville Grange, Virginville, Richmond Twp. He was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.).

He is survived by Wife, Mother, Daughter, Amy S. Burkhart, wife of John T. Fenstermacher, II, Pottsville, Schuylkill County; Son, Kenneth A. Burkhart, Pottsville, Schuylkill County; Step Daughters, Deanna L. (Merkel) wife of Gregory A. Burk, West Lawn, Tracee L. (Merkel) wife of Rodney R. Hackman, Conestoga, Lancaster County, Kimberly S. Merkel, Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.); 1 Grandson, 3 Step Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Thursday, May 11, 2006, 10:30 AM from Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.). Interment in Dunkel’s Church Cemetery, Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.). Friends may call Wednesday, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the church.

Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
