Delman F. Balthaser, 87, of Maxatawny Township, formerly of Virginville, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 in his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the widower of Gloria R. (Sterner) Balthaser, who died April 24, 2012.

Born in Kutztown, he was a son of the late Wayne J. and Ella M. (Stofflet) Balthaser. Mr. Balthaser was a United States Army veteran. He was employed as a crane operator by Carpenter Technology Corporation, Reading, for 32 years, retiring in 1987. Mr. Balthaser had a love for hunting and the outdoors, was an avid racing fan, and loved spending time with his grandsons and great granddaughters.

He is survived by Sons, Ricky L., husband of Candace E. (Gerlach) Balthaser, Fleetwood, and Randy S., husband of  Colette R. (George) Balthaser, Troy, Bradford Co., Sisters, Betty (Balthaser) Moore, Blandon, and Kathleen (Balthaser) Welder, Kutztown; Brothers, G. Bruce Balthaser, Kutztown, Malcolm, and Barrett Balthaser, both of Richmond Township. He is also survived by 4 Grandsons,  Eric L., husband of Carrie (Gargasz) Balthaser, Avon, OH, Brian T. Balthaser, Fleetwood, Scott R., husband of Leslie (Crandell) Balthaser, Colorado Springs, CO., and Bradley R. Balthaser, Atlanta, GA; and 4 Great Granddaughters, Alexandria, Kaitlyn, Lilly, and Harlow. He was predeceased by a Sister, Jacqueline (Balthaser) Hums, and a Brother, Donald Balthaser.

At Delman's request, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be held in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, Richmond Township.

Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
