David S Martin

David S. Martin, age 78, of Bowers Road, Bowers PA, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township PA. He was the Husband of Ellen W. (Martin) Martin. The couple celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary last December.

Born in Earl Township PA, he was the Son of the late John N. and Mary Ellen (Sauder) Martin. He was Owner/Partner, along with his son Roy, of Martin's Woodworking Shop, Bowers PA, from 1970 until retiring in 2001. He was a Farmer in Lancaster County from 1946 to 1950 and in Berks County from 1950 until 1970. He was a Member of the Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown PA.

He is survived by his Wife; Daughters, Verna M., wife of Paul W. Sauder of Mertztown PA, Bertha M. Martin of New Tripoli PA, Lucy M., wife of Edwin R. Matin of Denver PA and Ida M., wife of Arlis Koehn of Galva KS; Sons, Eli M., husband of Esther H. (Burkholder) Martin of Shiloh OH, Paul M., husband of Lena B. (Shirk)Martin of Ephrata PA, Elvin M. Martin of Kutztown PA and Roy M., husband of Vera (Hurst) Martin of Bowers PA; Sister, Annie S., wife of Phares S. Hurst of Bowmansville PA; Brothers, Henry S. Martin of Turtle Point PA, Eli S. Martin of New Holland PA, Aaron S. Martin of Narvon PA and Samuel S. Martin of Intercourse PA; 29 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He is predeceased in death by his Son, Allen M. Martin who died in 1999 and Grandson, Lorin M. Martin who died in 1988.

Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, April 29, 2002 from his late home, 347 Bowers Road, Bowers PA, followed by 1:30 PM Services at the Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown. Family and Friends may call 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday in the Family Home. Interment in Center Mennonite Church Cemetery, Kutztown. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton PA.
