Mr. David Russell Jarrett

David Russell Jarrett, 83, of Mertztown, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Inptient Hospice, Allentown. He was the widower of Leona F. (Ziegler) Jarrett who died on April 1, 1990.

Born in Mertztown, David was a son of the late Russell W. and Elda M. (Bailey) Jarrett. He was a graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton. David worked in the maintenance department at Kutztown University for many years. Prior to his time at KU, David worked as a plumber at the former Scheidt and Printz Plumbing, Kutztown and the former Caloric Corporation, Topton.

David enjoyed playing softball and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his two sons, Kevin D., husband of Sue (Johnson) Jarrett, Barto, and Anthony C., husband of Roylene (Kline) Jarrett, Mertztown; four grandchildren, Keely (Jarrett) Doyle, Kellen Jarrett, Andrew Jarrett and Aaron Jarrett; and a great-granddaughter, Theo Leona Doyle.

A graveside service to celebrate David's life and inurnment will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Longswamp Union Cemetery, State Street, Mertztown, with The Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman officiating.
