Daniel W George

Daniel W. George, 83, of Fleetwood, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 in the Lutheran Home at Topton where he had been a resident since April. He was the husband of Margaret E. (Kutz) George, also a resident of the Lutheran Home at Topton. They were married August 1, 1953.

Born in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh Co., he was the son of the late Daniel E. and Sallie V. (Bailey) George. Mr. George was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, Fleetwood. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict. He was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Mr. George was employed by the former Allentown Portland Cement Company, Evansville, now Lehigh Cement Co., for many years retiring in 1991. Prior to that, he was employed by Carl R. Bieber, Sr., excavating, Kutztown. He enjoyed hunting and deep sea fishing.

He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Susan A. (George) wife of James A. Snyder, and Sally D. (George) wife of Alfred K. Roth, both of Fleetwood; 5 Grandchildren, Aixia J. Zellers, Jody L. Gatto, Jennifer S. Dunkle, Jeffrey H. Potts, and Justine M. Potts; 4 Great Grandchildren, Brayden R. Horn, Connor W., Emma R. and Hayley M. Gatto. He is also survived by his four-legged companion, "Henry.”

Funeral Services are Friday, August 17, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Henry Auditorium located on the campus of the Lutheran Home at Topton, One South Home Avenue, Topton. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM in the Henry Auditorium.
