Dale D Vanderpool

Dale D. Vanderpool, 65, formerly of Kutztown, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 in ManorCare, West Reading where he was a resident since 2002. He was the husband of Catherine A. (Smith) Vanderpool, whom he married February 13, 1987.

Born in Sayre, PA (Bradford County), he was a son of the late Lamont B. and Catherine M. (Wells) Vanderpool. He was a member of Kane United Methodist Church, Kane, PA. He received both his Bachelor of Arts and M.Ed. Degree in Special Education at the former Wesleyan College, Allentown, PA. He was a youth counselor at the Red Rock Job Core, Lopez, PA from 1983 to 1986. He was a Nazarene minister in Finley, Ohio from 1980 to 1981 and taught in the St. Mary’s School District, PA from 1988 to 1991.

He is survived by Wife, Sons, Phillip L. Vanderpool, Bloomsburg, PA and Daniel M. Vanderpool, Arkensas; Step-Daughters, Anne Spence, and Mary K. Spence, both in Ohio; Sisters, Ethel, wife of Francis J. Vanderpool, Lyon Station, PA, Gail J. Vanderpool, Allentown, Linda L., wife of Gregory A. Stufflet, Fleetwood, Donna M. Vanderpool, Lyon Station, and Doris A. Orth, Kutztown, PA; Brothers, Paul P., Sayre, PA, Lyle L., Wetherford, TX, Albert A., Athens, PA and Robert R. Vanderpool, Hamburg, PA.

Funeral Services are Monday, January 10, 2011 at 10:30 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment in Lacey Street Cemetery, Laceyville, PA. Friends may call Monday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
