Dale D Hoffman

Dale D. “Chubby” Hoffman, 86, formerly of Alburtis, died Friday, August 10, 2012 in Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown. He was the husband of Elizabeth C. (Knerr) Hoffman, also a resident at Mosser Nursing Home. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on July 6th.

Born in Alburtis, he was a son of the late Spencer and Katie (Weidner) Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis. Dale was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served in World War II. Mr. Hoffman was a foreman for Kline Foundry, Alburtis for many years until his retirement; prior to that, he was a molder at Caloric Corp. at its former Topton plant. Dale was an avid outdoorsman, life member of Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton and the Nimrod Fish & Wildlife Association, Alburtis.

He is survived by Wife, Son, Dale D. Hoffman, II, Alburtis; Daughter, Scarlet B. (Hoffman) Lichtenwalner, Topton; Sister, Dorine (Hoffman) Reichert, Alburtis; Grandchildren, Amber K. (Hoffman) Knecht, Tiffany L. Hoffman, Dale D. Hoffman, III, and Sarah M. Lichtenwalner; Great Grandson Colin B. Knecht.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton, PA. Interment with military honors performed by Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton in Lehigh Zion Cemetery, Alburtis. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to Lehigh County Meals on Wheels, 4234 Dorney Park Road, Allentown, PA 18104. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
