Craig L. Hertzog, 68, formerly of Sinking Spring, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was a patient one week, he was admitted from The Lutheran Home at Topton, his recent residence. He was the widow of Lindalee K. (Bard) Hertzog who died July 17, 2020. Born in Allentown, Craig was a son of the late Lee H. and Jean M. (Werley) Hertzog. He was a former member of New Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Rockland Township.
Craig was a graduate of Brandywine Heights Area High School, Class of 1971. He continued his education at Penn State University, where he received an Associate's Degree in Mass Communications with a two-year major in Radio Broadcasting.
Craig was employed as an assembly line operator at East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyon Station, until his retirement in 2018.
Craig was an was a fan of baseball, basketball, NASCAR, and a collector of sports memorabilia, especially Penn State items. Craig and his late wife were lovers of animals, especially their dogs Sadie and Lillie, their cat Cuddles, and several birds.
Craig is survived by his sister, Debra J. (Hertzog) wife of Kenneth R. Dietrich, Lenhartsville; Other survivors include a nephew, Michael K. Dietrich, Kutztown; a niece, Michelle R. (Dietrich), wife of Daniel D. Batz, Kutztown; great nieces: Erika, Meaghan, Kourtney, and Rachael Dietrich; Briahna and Rebecca Batz; There are also many aunts and cousins and extended family that survive.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Craig's life will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Vicar Jeremiah T. Heydt, officiating. Inurnment in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the services.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, contributions be considered in Craig's memory to Zoe's House, Inc., P.O Box 2372, Reading, PA 19608.
