Clayton W Snyder

Clayton W. Snyder, 87, of Kutztown, went to his eternal reward Thursday, October 10, 2013 in his home. He was the husband of Ruth R. (Burkholder) Snyder. They were married December 30, 1951.

Born June 30, 1926 in Ephrata Township, Lancaster Co. he was a son of the late Harry N. and Emma C. (Wenger) Snyder. His stepmother was the late Mary G. (Zimmerman) Snyder. He was a member of the Groffdale conference and attended Old Order Mennonite Church, Fleetwood. He was a farmer his entire life and worked at Red Cheek, Fleetwood, for over 25 years. He also worked for the Leesport Farmers Market and Kutztown Produce Auction.

(Daub) Snyder, Kutztown; 7 Daughters, Lillian B. (Snyder) widow of John W. Sauder, Fleetwood, Marlene B. (Snyder) wife of Lawrence W. Burkholder, Kutztown, Linda B. (Snyder) wife of Elvin Z. Brubacher, Thorp, Wis, Louise B. (Snyder) wife of Clarence N. Shirk, Kutztown, Louella B. (Snyder) wife of Nevin Ray Hurst, Kutztown, Louetta B. (Snyder) wife of Ernie M. Martin, Fleetwood and Mary Jane (Snyder) wife of Harold B. Martin, Newmanstown. Other survivors include, 60 Grandchildren, 52 Great Grandchildren, Brothers, John Jacob Z. husband of Minnie H. (Nolt) Snyder, Ephrata, Joseph Z. husband of Verna (Stauffer) Snyder, Lititz, Lloyd Z. husband of Martha (Zimmerman) Snyder, Fredericksburg and Earl Z. Snyder, East Earl; Sisters Katie W. (Snyder) wife of Raymond W. Nolt, Stevens, Anna Mary Z. (Snyder) wife of Rufus M. Reiff, East Earl and Ella Z. (Snyder) wife of Walter S. Fox, Himrod, NY. There is also a Sister-in-Law, Esther W. (Stauffer), New Holland, widow of predeceased Brother, Harry W. Snyder, Step Brother-in-Law, Ivan Z. Weaver widower Edna W. (Nolt) Snyder, Terre Hill. Clayton was predeceased by 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and Brothers, Harry, Menno, David and several infant siblings.

Funeral Services are Monday, October 14, 2013 at 9:00 AM from his late residence, 59 Crystal Cave Road, Kutztown, with services continuing at 9:30 AM at Old Order Mennonite Church, Fleetwood. Friends may call Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in his late home. Please omit flowers.
