Clair M. Clemmer

November 9, 1929 — March 9, 2024

Clair M. “Muggy” Clemmer, 94, of Kutztown, passed away on March 9, 2024. He was a son of the late Lester and Lizzie (Angstadt) Clemmer. He honorably and faithfully served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1952.

Clair worked as a painter for Frank Furhman and in maintenance for Briar Cliff Community, Kutztown, for many years.

Muggy is survived by his sisters, Elaine (Clemmer), widow of Kenneth Hartman, Kutztown; Shirley (Clemmer), widow of Richard “Chubby” Matthias, Reading; many nieces and nephews. His friend and caregiver, Mae Rhode, her son, Tab, husband of Carrie (Cernobyl) Rhode, and daughter, Emma Jewel. In addition to his parents, Clair was predeceased by brothers, Carl Clemmer and Robert “Bobby” Clemmer, and sisters, Jean (Clemmer) Willhite and Pauline (Clemmer) Hersh.

Family and friends have many happy memories of Clair, he led a good life and will surely by missed.

At Clair’s request there will be no formal services.
