Chester M Herb

Chester M. Herb, 82, of Mertztown (Rockland Township), died Sunday, November 27, 2005, in Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation, Wyomissing, where he had been a resident since Wednesday, November 23 ^rd . He was the husband of Mae F. (Howard) Herb. They were married on April 6, 1946.

Born in Washington Township, Berks County, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer W. and the late Sarah W. (Moll) Herb. He was a lineman for over 55 years for IBEW Union Local 126 retiring in 1981. He was Lutheran. He was a US Army and US Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Lehigh Lodge #326, F. & A.M., Macungie; a 50 years member of the Patriotic Order Sons of America Camp #221, Limekiln; a life member of the Pikeville Sportsman Association; and, he was a life member of the Friendship Hook and Ladder Company, Boyertown.

He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Marsha K. (Herb) Manwiller, Oley; Son, Gary C. Herb, Mertztown; Brothers, Arthur J. “Scoop” Herb, Boyertown, Homer M. Herb, Bechtelsville; 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great Granddaughter.

Funeral Services are Friday, December 2, 2005, at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment with Military Honors in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Masonic Services Thursday at 8:00 PM.
