Cheryl Gambler-Schlegel

Cheryl K. Gambler-Schlegel, 70, of Kutztown, PA, and formerly of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. She was the widow of Carlton G. Schlegel.

Born in Allentown, Cheryl was a daughter of the late Melvin A.S. Gambler and Catharine E. (Fegley) Gambler and was a 1973 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton. Cheryl worked as a Secretary and Payroll Clerk for several companies throughout her career including Clifford Hill Sanitation Service, Inc., Katos Sportswear Co., and Wissahickon Spring Water Co., all of Kutztown.

She loved to volunteer and give her time to help others. She was a member of Lyons Fire Company and their Ladies Auxiliary, Topton Fire Company and their Ladies Auxiliary, Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion and their Ladies Auxiliary, and Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and their Ladies Auxiliary. Cheryl was an avid pool player and enjoyed bowling, horse racing, watching game shows on TV and in her younger years was interested in CB radios. She was also an animal lover and had many furry friends over the years including her beloved Booger and Rex. She valued relationships above all, spending time with loved ones and creating memories that will forever warm the hearts of those she touched.

Cheryl is survived by her brother, Errol Gambler, and wife, Christine, of Lewes, DE; niece, Kim (Gambler) Hostetter; nephew, Christopher Gambler; great-nieces, Haley, Sarah and Brooke; great-great nieces, Callie and Marli; great-great nephew, Grady; along with her longtime friend Janie (Reed) Arcelay.

Services for Cheryl will be held privately with burial in Union Cemetery of Bowers.
