Charles J. Zwoyer, Sr., 87, formerly of Rockland Township, died Friday, June 26, 2009 in Manor Care, Muhlenberg Township. He was the widower of Margaret M. (Kemp) Zwoyer who died April 5, 2007.
Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late James A. and Pearl (Moyer) Zwoyer. He was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis. He was a US Air Force veteran of World War II. He was employed as a production technician at the former General Seating Company, Topton for 15 years until his retirement in 1985. He first worked as a designer / technologist at Caloric Corporation for 20 years, at its former Topton plant. He was a member of Rockland Township Zoning Hearing Board for 27 years; Treasurer of Rockland Rod & Gun Club 17 years and a member of Ray A. Master, Post 217, American Legion, Topton.
He is survived by Daughters, Carolyn D. (Zwoyer) wife of Eric Snyder, Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; Barbara A. Zwoyer, Mertztown; and Sandra A. (Zwoyer) wife of David L. Bausher, Fleetwood; Sons, Charles J. Jr., husband of Carol A. (Gift) Zwoyer, Alburtis and Robert L. husband of Dana K. (Scheidt) Zwoyer, Mertztown There are 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 2 Step Great Grandchildren.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
