Charles D Reed

Charles D. “Chuck” Reed, 82, of Fleetwood, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the home of his daughter, Jessica, where he was residing. He was the husband of Anna L. (Leibensperger) Reed, whom he married May 13, 1950.

Born in Lyon Station, PA, he was a son of the late Franklin H. and Florence M. (Reppert) Reed. Mr. Reed was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton, PA. He was a veteran of the United State Navy having served during the Korean War. Charles was a heavy equipment operator for Eastern Industries, and later Berks Products, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Lyons Fire Company, and the Mertztown and Kutztown Rod and Gun Clubs.

He is survived by Wife, Son, John F., husband of Corliss A. (Kuzmin) Reed, Allentown; Daughters, Diane L. (Reed) Conrad, Fleetwood, and Jessica A. (Reed) wife of Bruce D. Franko, Mertztown, PA; Sister, Vivian L. (Reed) Keppley, Hopkinville, KY; Brothers, Dalton S. Reed and Grant A. Reed, both of Lyon Station, PA. There are also 4 Grandchildren, Stacy L. Keller, Meggan V. Kantner, Nathan D. Reed and Mitchell T. Kantner and 4 Great-Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Sister, Clarabelle (Reed) Henry and Brothers, Mark K. Reed and Dallas F. Reed.

Memorial Services are Tuesday, August 3, 2010, 11:00 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Tuesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to Brandywine Sports Booster Club, c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
