Charles Allen "Charlie" Ohlinger, 63, of Mertztown, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in his residence. He was the husband of Jean M. (Kern) Ohlinger, whom he married on December 19, 1998.
Born in Reading, Charles was a son of Pearl E. (Collins) Ohlinger, Wannamakers, PA, and the late George Ohlinger, Sr., who died on August 5, 1999. Charlie attended Brandywine Heights High School, Topton. He was employed by Palram Americas, Inc., New Smithville, for three years and was previously employed by East Penn Manufacturing Co., Inc., Lyons, for 25 years.
Charlie was a talented woodworker and enjoyed working on his 1951 Ford truck. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA).
In addition to his wife of nearly 26 years, Jean, and mother Pearl, Charlie is survived by his four children, Kathy J. (Ohlinger) Moyer, Breinigsville, Jason T. Ohlinger and wife Lisa, Hamburg, Shannon B. (Ohlinger) Coscia, Topton, and Matthew B. Ohlinger, Bellevue, NE; siblings, Donna J. (Ohlinger), wife of Greg H. Younger, Topton, Sandra L. (Ohlinger), wife of William D. Felker, Wannamakers, John W. Ohlinger, Fleetwood, and Stewart E. Ohlinger, Fleetwood; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Along with his father, Charlie was predeceased by his brother, George Ohlinger, Jr., in 1980.
