Charles A Wehr

Charles A. Wehr, age 76, of 2502 Hamilton Street, Allentown PA, died Saturday, June 3, 2000 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township PA. He was the husband of Joyce K. (Kutz) Wehr. The couple celebrated their 26th Anniversary this past April.

Born in Slatington PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. and the late Pearl E. (Peters) Wehr. He worked in the maintenance department of the Allentown School District and the former Boro Bus Company in Allentown PA from 1958 until 1988. During the same time he worked. Prior to that he worked as a trolley and bus driver for Lehigh Valley Transit, now LANTA Metro, Allentown PA. He was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ Church, Kutztown PA. He was also a member for 40 years of Grace United Church of Christ, Allentown PA. He was a Tech Sergeant, in the United States Army and served during WWII. He was a life member of the Persian Gulf Command Veterans Organization serving as its Vice Commander. He was also a member of Post #9264, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Macungie PA.

He is survived by his Wife; Son, Thomas N. Wehr, of Kempton PA; Daughter, Sally A. (Knoll), wife of William W. Getchell of Point Pleasant PA; Brother, Kenneth of Allentown PA; Sisters, Dorothy, wife of Franklin Lichtenwalner of Center Valley PA, Grace, wife of Ralston Vogel of Allentown PA and Marie Stewart, Miami FL; 2 Granddaughters and 1 Great Grandson. he was predeceased in death by Step Daughter Nancy Henderson, who died in 1989.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 7, 2000 at 11:00 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homess, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown PA. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. The Rev. Wilbur C. Albright Officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
