Cetty S Stauffer

Cetty S. Stauffer, 96, of Kutztown, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the widow of L. Merlin Stauffer who died December 27, 1993.

Born in Ringtown, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Milton J. and Mary E. (Ulshafer) Shappell. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown. Cetty was a graduate of Ringtown High School, and a 1934 graduate of Kutztown State Teacher’s College, Kutztown, receiving a degree in elementary education. She was employed as an elementary school teacher by the Kutztown Area School District for many years until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Kutztown, Order of Eastern Star #336, Kutztown, and various retired teachers associations.

She is survived by Daughter, Sandra E. (Stauffer) wife of Rodney M. Fisher, Kutztown; Grandchildren, Mandi B. (Fisher) wife of Trevor Dunn, Glenolden, Delaware County, Derek S. Fisher, Chicago, IL and Michael S. husband of Carrie (Anderson) Fisher, Canonsburg, Washington County. She is also survived by 3 Great Grandchildren, Oliver G. Dunn, Anderson M. Fisher and Jake S. Fisher. She was predeceased by Sisters, Verna (Shappell) Laudig, Helen (Shappell) Lindenmuth and Brothers, Howard and Scott Shappell.

Graveside Services are Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. There are no calling hours.

The family requests contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 357 West Main Street, Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
