Catherine P Delong

Catherine P. "Kay" (Peifer) DeLong, age 93, formerly of Kutztown, and Temple, died April 13, 2016, in the residence of her daughter, Nancy J. (DeLong) Delp, where she recently resided. She was the widow of Russell G. DeLong, who died July 4, 2005.

Born in Dornsife, Northumberland County, Catherine was a daughter of the late Norman Z. and Gertrude M. (Kehres) Peifer. She was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. Catherine also was a 30-year member and long-time treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary of Kutztown Fire Company, No. 1, Kutztown.

She is survived by Daughter, Nancy J. (DeLong) wife of Michael W. Delp, with whom she resided; and a Sister, Arlene K. (Peifer) widow of Robert Kieffer, Dornsife. Other survivors include 3 Grandchildren, Erin M. (Delp) wife of Zak Marinkov, Karin N. (Delp) wife of Jason A. Manwiller and Ryan M. Delp, fiancé of Jordan N. Stauffer; and 4 Great Grandchildren, Katie M. and Emily E. Marinkov and Luke A. and Isaac J. Manwiller.  Catherine was predeceased by 8 Sisters and 5 Brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11:00 AM from Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, 47 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown. Family and friends may call Saturday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.

The family requests contributions be made in Catherine's memory to Saint Paul's U.C.C. Church, 47 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
