Catherine M Schlenker

Catherine M. (Grim) Schlenker, 95, of Great River, New York, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in Oakdale, New York. She was the widow of Lester H. Schlenker, who died in 1981.

Born in Greenwich Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Florence (Smith) Grim. Mrs. Schlenker was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Islip, New York. She was a 1937 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, and worked as a waitress for many years.

She is survived by Daughter, Karen (Schlenker), wife of Austin Shaw, Great River, NY; Daughter-in-law, Arlene M. (Barto) Smith, Gilbertsville, widow of predeceased Son, Ronald G. Smith, who died August 5, 2013; 4 Grandchildren, Tina M. Smith, Ricky L. Smith, David W. Smith and Tara L. Williams; 5 Great Grandchildren, Teo and Zoe Byl, Jason and Kelly Smith, and Hunter Berlinghof; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, Nathanial and Xavier Smith. She was predeceased by her Husband, Lester; Son, Ronald; and Brothers, Paul S. Grim and John Grim.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 12:00 noon in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Dr. Dennis S. Ritter officiating. Relatives and friends may call prior to the memorial service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
