Catherine H. Smith

Catherine H. (Griech) Smith, 103, of Kutztown, formerly of Maxatawny, died Sunday, February 25, 2018, in The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Township.  She was the widow of Alvin T. Smith, who died in 1974.  Born in Fogelsville, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Verna (Kolodzej) Griech.  Mrs. Smith was a member of Zion's Union Church, Kutztown. Catherine was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Kutztown Fire Company, No. 1, Kutztown.

Catherine is survived by a brother, Albert Griech, Allentown, and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings: John Griech, Thomas Griech, Andrew Griech, Jr., Frank Griech, Mary Griech, Anna Griech, and Irene (Griech) Madea.

Funeral services for Catherine will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown with Reverend Jeffrey J. Butz, officiating.  Interment will follow services in Zion (Maxatawny) Union Cemetery, Kutztown.  A viewing will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
