Carrie E. Rohrbach, 87, of Topton, formerly of Mertztown, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she resided since June 2006. She was the widow of Wilson H. Rohrbach, who died in 2001.
Born in Topton, she was a daughter of the late Lester G. and Alice M. (Hertzog) Hilbert. Mrs. Rohrbach was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by Daughter, Shirley H. (Rohrbach), widow of Russell R. Solt, Mertztown; Sons, Ray H. husband of Judy L. (Wink) Rohrbach, and Roy H. husband of Teresa A. (Ferry) Rohrbach, both of Mertztown; Sisters, Betty M. (Hilbert) Matthew, Fleetwood, Joyce A. (Hilbert) Eisenhard, Emmaus, Fern E. (Hilbert) Readinger, Oley, Shirley J. (Hilbert) Ream, Kutztown, Marlene R. (Hilbert) Diachynsky, Barto, Helen P. (Hilbert) Kunkleman, Kutztown, Florabelle (Hilbert) Christman, Reading, and Patricia A. (Hilbert) Roth, Fleetwood; Brothers, Lester C. Hilbert, Topton, Clarence L. Hilbert, Macungie, Melvin R. Hilbert, Stevens, Lancaster County, and Harold G. Hilbert, Topton. She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, Deborah A. (Solt) Kehm, Diane S. (Solt) Brensinger, Audrey L. (Solt) Tucker, Kimberly A. (Rohrbach) Milham, Pamela S. (Rohrbach) Kemp, Michael R. Rohrbach, Tammy L. (Rohrbach) Balatgek, Jonathan A. Rohrbach, and Joseph W. Rohrbach, and 13 Great Grandchildren, Brenden S. Kehm, Elizabeth N. Kehm, John R. Brensinger, Olivia E. Brensinger, Jordan M. Tucker, Brady M. Tucker, Courtney E. Milham, Andrew S. Milham, Tyler C. Kemp, Maci J. Rohrbach, Taylor J. Rohrbach, Leigh A. Balatgek, and Kate M. Balatgek. She was predeceased by an infant Son, Franklin D. Rohrbach, and Sisters Edna M. Weiser and Gladys P. Grim.
Funeral Services are Monday, March 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown Friends may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 117, Mertztown, PA 19539. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
