Carrie C Stern

Carrie C. Stern, 89, formerly of Maxatawny Township and recently of Robesonia died Saturday, May 14, 2011 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. She was the widow of Elton D. Stern who died in June 24, 1989.

Born in Topton, she was a daughter of the late Elmer M. and Hettie C. (Eidle) Gambler. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. She was a seamstress at the former Fleetwood Sportswear for 15 years until her retirement in 1981. Prior to that, she worked at the former General Seating, Topton, as well as several other manufacturing plants in the area.

She is survived by Daughters, Patricia A. (Stern) widow of Newlin C. Pompiano, Robesonia with whom she last resided, Nancy L. (Stern) widow of Frank W. Smaltz, Nazareth and Linda J. (Stern) widow of Paul E. DeLong, Mertztown. Other survivors include 8 Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, 2 Step Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at 11:30 AM from Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 S. Home Avenue. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Friends may call Monday, from 7:00 to 8:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton.
