Ms. Carmelita Rose Slack

Carmelita Rose Slack, 86, passed away unexpectedly and without pain on June 15, 2021, in rural PA, in the presence of family.

She is survived by her children, Dean Slack, Ph.D. and Dawn Slack, Ph.D.; daughter-in-law Vicki Slack; her sister Andrea Diehl; and nephews Clint and Brett Diehl and their families.

Carmelita will join her parents, Dr. Howard A. and Carmelita Rose, along with other generations of family, to rest in peace at Rynd Farm Cemetery (Rouseville PA).

Carmelita graduated from Upper Arlington High School (OH), attended The Ohio State University, was a U.S. Air Force wife of many years, and had varied career interests including childcare and administration responsibilities in property management, beauty, and retail.

She was creative, upbeat, quick-witted, and unfiltered. She loved a good laugh and wrote amazing, highly entertaining letters.  She also cherished a long series of pets, including a good number of older rescue dogs, the rescues being mutual. She adored the beach in her earlier years, often expressing “ To the beach!, ” and the countryside in her later years, cruising in the bright Jeep to spot wildlife on a “deer ride.”

Services for Carmelita will be held privately.
