Carl J Wessner

Carl J. Wessner, 82, of Maxatawny Township, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in his residence. He was the husband of Katherine A. (Piger) Wessner. They were married August 23, 1952.

Born in Maxatawny Township, he was a son of the late John W. and Esther M. (DeLong) Wessner. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown. From 1952 to 1957, he was a self employed farmer. From 1958 to 1972, he and his late father operated a farm partnership, John Wessner Farming, Kutztown. From 1973 to 2000, Mr. Wessner was a partner in Wessner Brothers Farming, Kutztown. From 2001 to 2007, he was a self employed farmer in Kutztown.

He is survived by Wife; Sons, Daniel J., husband of Cynthia D. (Bond) Wessner, Krumsville, Bruce C., husband of Louise E. (Rhode) Wessner, Kutztown, Dale W., husband of Sheila J. (Rauch) Wessner, Kempton, and Roy A., husband of Elizabeth R. (Sanders) Wessner, Kutztown; Son-in-Law, Thomas C. Reinhard, Kutztown, widower of predeceased daughter Carlene S. (Wessner) Reinhard who died April 16, 2012. Other survivors include Brothers, Charles D., husband of Carol J. (Schick) Wessner and Warren J. husband of Bonnie B. (Hertzog) Wessner, both of Kutztown; Grandchildren, Jenni L. Reinhard, Jennifer R. (Hoppes) Humbles, Cheryl L. (Hoppes) McLaughlin, Jeremy S. Reinhard, Katie E. Wessner, Tiffany J. Knabb, Jillian K. Yeakel, Jacob B. Wessner, Erica E. Knabb, Emma J. Wessner, Caleb J. Wessner, Janelle E. Geist, Heather L. Geist, Lucas J. Wessner; Great Grandchildren, Ava L. McLaughlin, Lilyanna C.C. Humbles, Lincoln D.J. Humbles, Hailey O. Bauscher, Natalie B. Bauscher, Olivia C. Yeakel. He was predeceased by a Brother, Earl W. "Tootie" Wessner in 1992.

Funeral Services are Monday, January 28, 2013 at 10:30 AM from St. John’s Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown. Interment in Ziegels Church Union Cemetery, Breinigsville. Friends may call Monday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the church.
