Carl H George

Carl H. George, 77, of Mertztown, died Monday, November 15, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of Marian A. (Keim) George. They were married on April 20, 1957.

Born in Greenwich Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Howard A. and Alma (Rahn) George. He was a member of New Jerusalem Zion UCC Church, Lenhartsville. He was an iron worker for various companies and was a member of Local 420, Reading. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a hard worker and loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cutting and splitting wood. He will be greatly missed by his wife and children.

He is survived by Wife, Son, Jeffrey A. George companion of Elizabeth Glass, Mertztown; Daughter, Michele E. (George) wife of Dwayne D. DeLong, Hamburg; Sister, Marian (George) wife of Kermit Schwoyer, Kutztown; and Brother, Lester widower of Doris (Werley) George, Kutztown. He was predeceased by Sisters, Mildred, Laila and Evelyn.

Graveside Services are Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM in Dunkel’s Church Cemetery, Kutztown. Military Honors provided by the Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion Honor Guard, Topton.

The family requests contributions to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 117, Mertztown, PA. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
