Carl G Rahn

Carl G. “Wimpy” Rahn, 71, of Kutztown, died Sunday, February 20, 2011 in Kutztown Manor. He was the husband of Alice J. (Meck) Rahn, whom he married June 9, 1973.

Born in Maxatawny Township, he was a son of the late Paul A. and Anna M. (Warmkessel) Rahn. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers, where he was a former council member and Sunday school teacher. He was a member and past president of the Kutztown Lions Club serving 1992-93 and 2005-06. He also was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award in 2002-03. Carl was also a member of the Kutztown Ambulance and Fire Company. Mr. Rahn was employed as an assembler by East Penn Mfg., Lyon Station, for 21 years, retiring in 1999. He also worked for Luckenbill’s Service Station, Bowers, and Ryly’s Service Station, Kutztown.

He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Melanie A. (Rahn) Evans, fiancé of Larry Chester, Fleetwood; Son, Paul E., husband of Kimberly A. (Stanford) Rahn, Hudson, FL; Sisters, Pauline A. (Rahn) Bortz, Topton, Carolyn M. (Rahn) wife of Donald E. Heist, Hamburg, Anna Louise (Rahn) wife of Francis L. Miller, Topton, and Marilyn R. (Rahn) wife of Charles L. Ackerman, Fleetwood. There are also 6 Grandchildren, Marissa A. Rahn, Parker O. Rahn and Brayden A. Rahn and Maya R. Evans, Jasmine M. Evans and Sydney E. Chester.

Funeral Services are Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 10:30 AM from Hope Lutheran Church, 550 Fleetwood Road, Bowers, PA 19511. Interment in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Thursday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
