Carl F. Spranger, age 83, of 420 College Blvd., Saucony Cross Apartments, Kutztown, formerly of Breinigsville, died April 4, 2003 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was married to Helen M. (Bolcar) Spranger for 60 years in November.
Born in Morristown, N.J., he was a son of the late John E. and Mildred (Francisco) Spranger. He was manager for A & P, Morris Plains, N.J., for 28 years before retiring in 1974. After retiring, he was a courier for Rodale Institute, Maxatawny, Berks County, for 10 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kutztown. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a past commander and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2833, Kenvil, N.J.
He is survived by his Wife; Son, Carl J. of New York City; Daughters, Roberta Gazda of Owls Head, Maine, Valerie Lockard of Easton; Brother, Kenneth of Greendell, N.J.; Sisters, Molly Francisco of Cranberry Lake, N.J., Lillian Riker of Bradenton, Fla., Hazel of Alamuchy, N.J.; 2 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren.
