Carl F Meitzler

Carl F. Meitzler, 66, of Longswamp Township, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in ManorCare Nursing Home, Allentown, where he was a patient since May 10, 2013. He was the widower of Virginia A. (Derr) Meitzler, who died October 18, 2002.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late George F. and Margaret A. (Geist) Meitzler. Mr. Meitzler was a member of the Reformed congregation of Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville. He was employed as a crane operator by the former McConway & Torley, Kutztown, from 1967 to 1985. From 1986 to 1992 he worked for the former Snyder Painting, New Tripoli. From 1992 until his retirement in 2008, he worked as a forklift operator in various warehouses in the area. He was a lifetime member of Seisholtzville Fire Company, Hereford Township. Mr. Meitzler was also a member of the Old Time Plowboys Club, Kutztown.

He is survived by Daughter, Penny (Meitzler), wife of Andrew J. Graff, Germansville; Sons, Bruce P., husband of Rebecca J. (Richards) Meitzler, Alburtis, and Peter G. Meitzler, fiancé of Robin L. (Updegrove) Weil, Macungie; Sisters, Marylou (Meitzler) Zettlemoyer and Ferne (Meitzler) Arnold, both of Topton; Brother, Leon L. Meitzler, Alburtis; Step-Brother, Kermit Derr, Alburtis. There are 4 Grandchildren, Kyle A. Graff, Kendall A. Graff, Nicole E. Meitzler, and McKenzie A. Meitzler and one Step Grandson, David A. Weil, III.

Funeral Services are Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Fogelsville. Friends may call Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, and Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the funeral home.
