Carl F. “Badeye” Blank, 79, of Mertztown, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 in his home. He was the husband of Dian M. (Reinert) Bennecoff Blank. They were married July 22, 1992.
Born in Lower Macungie Township, he was a son of the late Harold E. and Goldie M. (Smith) Blank. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. Carl worked as an assembler for Mack Trucks, Macungie, for 25 years until his retirement in 1992. He was also a member of the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club for 55 years; Nimrod Fish & Wildlife Association, Alburtis, Pike Township Sportsman’s Association, Pike Township; and Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton. His other interests included playing Pinochle, cooking for different functions, making his beloved clam chowder, and watching ball games with his grandson Codey.
He is survived by Wife; Daughters, Sheila Roberts and Crystal Scott; Son, David Blank; Step Son, Robert W. Bennecoff and his fiancé Diane L. Gilbert. In addition there are 2 Sisters, Fern Romig and Shirley Mader and 2 Brothers, Robert and Ronald Blank. There are 4 Grandchildren and a Step Grandson.
Memorial Services are Thursday, October 8, 2009, 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, services with Military Honors continuing at Alburtis Rod & Gun Club, 3818 Gun Club Lane. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
