Carl E. Zettlemoyer, 83, of Maxatawny Township, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lucille J. (Zuberka) Zettlemoyer. They were married March 4, 1950.

Born in Greenwich Township, he was a son of the late Webster E. and Helen E. (Snyder) Zettlemoyer. Mr. Zettelmoyer was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Zion's Union Church, Maxatawny. He was a 1947 graduate of Slatington High School. An elected official, he was a supervisor for Maxatawny Township for 24 years. He was also employed as a road foreman by Maxatawny Township for 44 years, and prior to that, he, along with his wife, were self employed dairy farmers in Maxatawny Township from 1951 to 1985. Mr. Zettlemoyer was a member, and held the rank of Lieutenant , of the Civil Air Patrol, Allentown. He was also a member of the Kutztown Lions Club, Kutztown Grange, Pennsylvania Farmers Association, Pennsylvania International Flying Farmers, and Reading Q.B. Carl enjoyed flying airplanes, hunting and fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed life itself.

He is survived by Wife; Daughter, Sharon P. (Zettlemoyer), wife of Timothy L. Tyson, Jonestown, Lebanon Co., Stacey J. (Zettlemoyer), wife of Heath R. Fegely, Lenhartsville; Son, Stephen E., husband of Pamela K. (Dieter) Zettlemoyer, Kutztown; Brother, Harlan Zettlemoyer, Westminster, MD; 9 Grandchildren, David, Stephanie, Thomas, Justin, Jessica, Ethan, Dylan, James, Stacey; and 10 Great Grandchildren, Clay, Cody, Emma, Brett, Greyson, Ivan, Dane, Rowdy, Logan, and Collin. He was predeceased by a Sister, Catherine Z. Rex on April 23, 2013; and a Son, Michael C. Zettlemoyer on May 22, 2012.

Funeral Services are Monday, November 18, 2013 at 10:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
