Carl D Reese

Carl D. Reese, 81, formerly of Longswamp Township and The Lutheran Home at Topton, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 in the In-Patient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Lillian M. (Keim) Reese who died May 24, 1997.

Born in Longswamp Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late John A. and Sarah A. (Moyer) Reese. He worked as a laborer at the former Emmaus Foundry for 37 years until his retirement in 1992. He proudly and honorably served his country during World War II with the United States Army. He was Lutheran.

He is survived by Daughter, Bonita L. (Reese) wife of John A. Geist, Alburtis; Sister, Gladys (Reese) widow of William Wetzel, Alburtis. There are 2 Grandchildren, Mark A. Geist, M.D. and Tracy L. (Geist) wife of Jeffrey Weed and Niece, Alverta (Reese) wife of John Stichter, Alburtis.

Funeral Services are Wednesday, February 20, 2008, 10:30 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment with Military Honors by Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton, in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Wednesday, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

The family requests contributions to The Lutheran Home at Topton, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton, 19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
