Calvin C Hess

Calvin C. Hess, age 72, of 50 Calvin Lane, Mertztown PA, died November 15, 2001 in his home. He was the Husband of Arlene M. (Weller) Hess. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past March.

Born in Ruscomanor Township, Berks County PA, he was the Son of the late Ambrose and Sallie (Eschbach) Hess. He Owned and Operated Calvin C. Hess Contracting Co. for 25 years, retiring in 2000. He was a Member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Fleetwood PA. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his Wife; Daughter, Tina M., wife of Troy T. Fairchild of Mertztown PA; Sons, Calvin G. Hess of Mertztown PA, Allen S. Hess of Alburtis PA and Barry L. Hess of Fleetwood PA; Sisters, Martha, wife of Jack Fox of Mertztown PA, Mary, wife of Robert Reppert of Mertztown PA and June, wife of Curtis Younger of Alburtis PA; Brothers, Lloyd Hess of Fleetwood PA, Alfred Hess of Trexlertown PA, John Hess of Topton PA, Nevin Hess of Alburtis PA, Robert Hess of Mertztown PA and David Hess of Alburtis PA; 7 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson. He is predeceased in death by his Daughter, Marilyn (Hess) Steffy in 1995.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 24, 2001 in the Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood PA. Family and Friends may call 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Saturday in the Church. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Fleetwood PA. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Topton PA.
