Bruce R. Burrows

Bruce R. Burrows, 84, of Bowers, a devoted husband, caring, generous father, and doting Pop Pop went to rest with the Lord, April 10, 2024. Bruce was born June 20, 1939 in Allentown to LeRoy N. Burrows, Sr. and Stephanie (Gurniak). A 1957 graduate of Allen High School he went on to serve in the Air Force spending 3 years in Germany. Bruce continued his education at East Stroudsburg University earning his BS, 1965 and MS in HPE. There he met Ann Shoemaker and they were married August 27, 1966. They raised one son Brad. Bruce was the HPE teacher at Kutztown HS for 32 years coaching wrestling and track. He loved his job and his athletes, always looking forward to each day there. He was a charter member of the Bowers Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, son, Brad, husband of Kathleen (Kelly) and their two children, Brenden and Brooke. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Peggy Burrows and niece, Michelle.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at noon in St. Paul's UCC, 47 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to the Memorial Fund of St. Paul's.
