Mrs. Brenda K. Herber

Brenda K. (Snyder) Herber, 74, of Kutztown, passed away on Friday evening, March 1, 2024 in Tower Health - Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. She was the wife of Dallas R. Herber, whom she married on September 21, 1968.

Born in Reading, Brenda was a daughter of the late Paul A. and Edna A. A. (Hartung) Synder and was a 1967 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. She was a member of New Bethel Church, Kempton.

Brenda and Dallas were the owners and operators of the former Western Auto in Kutztown for 33 years, retiring in 2002. They also owned the former Wayne's Dry Goods, also of Kutztown, following the retirement of Dallas's parents.

Brenda enjoyed traveling with her family, loved animals, sewing, knitting and crocheting, and cheering her grandsons on in their various sport and music activities.

Along with her husband of 55 years, Dallas; Brenda is survived by a daughter, Trish A. (Herber), wife of Joseph A. Zona, Muhlenburg Twp.; and two grandchildren, Mason G. and Chase D. Zona.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Brenda's life will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Vicar Jeremiah T. Heydt officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
