Ms. Beverly Ann Bailey

Beverly Ann (Hummel) Bailey, 66, of Kempton (Lynn Township), passed away after a courageous fight on Sunday, January 29, 2023 in Good Shepherd Rehabilitation, Bethlehem, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Allentown, Beverly was a daughter of Anna P. (Oldt) Hummel, of Kempton, and the late Lee F. Hummel, who died April 8, 2020.

Beverly was a 1974 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, and attended Empire Beauty School in Allentown, where she received her degree in Cosmetology. She was the owner and operator of Beverly's Hair Studio for over 40 years and spent her younger years competing in hair shows in New York City. She also served as an Instructor at Metro Beauty Academy, Wescosville, and Empire Beauty School, at several of their locations, for several years.

Beverly had a strong faith and was a member of Orchard Hills Church, Breinigsville. In her free time, Beverly enjoyed sewing and gardening. She also loved music, dancing and spending time with her friends. Above all, Beverly was a caring person who had a heart of gold. She would help anyone in need and would always put other's needs before her own. She was devoted to her family and loved her grandchildren more than anything.

In addition to her mother, Anna; Beverly is survived by her two children, Jennie L. (Christman), wife of Joel B. Schmoyer, Kutztown, and Justin G., husband of Jill M. (Hummel) Christman, New Tripoli; five grandchildren, Karaline, Kylie, Cole, Keegan and Elena; three sisters, Brenda (Hummel), wife of Neal Derr, Kempton, Bonnie (Hummel), wife of Donald Henninger, Kutztown, and Bernadine (Hummel), wife of Shawn Gangaware, Kempton; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

A service to celebrate and honor Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Orchard Hills Church, 2096 Independent Road, Breinigsville, PA, with Pastor Ben Triestman officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the church. Burial will be held privately by her family.
